Gah! Barely! I wanted to add a snarky comment asking whether it was that he thought tens of thousands of years of Aboriginal history didn't count as "history", or whether hundreds of Aboriginal languages didn't count as "languages", but I restrained myself and simply wrote, "Not true!"
Welcome to our blog! This site is maintained by Secret Squirrel, a linguist, and TeachingClio, a history graduate student. We're just two academics sharing the trials and triumphs, the good and the bad, of teaching. Whenever there is marking or preparation to be done, never fear! You will find us here, writing about it instead of doing it.
"Good teaching is one-fourth preparation and three-fourths theater." Gail Godwin
We reserve the right to fictionalize any anecdotes so that they will not breach confidentiality. This may include changing details of places, times, student genders and descriptions, and we will always use pseudonyms for any students or colleagues we mention. Some anecdotes may be composites of several incidents. Anything that looks like a direct quote by a student or from student work almost certainly isn't.

Ha ha! That's great!
And yet, you're reading this, so you've managed not to tear your eyes out.
